Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s biggest cities, located on the coast. With a low cost of living, beaches that go on for miles, great restaurants and food, and an established digital nomad culture, it is highly popular among remote workers. And what do we remote workers love to do? Find a cool café to work at, have a beverage, maybe a fun snack. As a self-proclaimed expert in the field, I’ve scouted locations and compiled my favorites: here are the twelve best cafes and coworking spots to get some serious work done in Da Nang.

Little HaNoi Egg Coffee: Celebrating vietnamese culture

The two components that make up the name of this café already serve to describe it pretty well. Hanoi is Vietnam’s capital city, the oldest of the capital cities of Southeast Asia. The little café celebrates Vietnam’s rich history, from the interior design to the traditional Vietnamese food on the menu. The second component of the name – egg coffee – is one of these Vietnamese specialties. This kind of coffee is made with egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk, and of course, coffee. This thoughtfully decorated, very Instagrammable café is the perfect place to try it. If you are not into that, there are plenty of other drink options on the menu, as well as food, both traditional Vietnamese and more Western options. The café is open till 10 PM. The only drawbacks: the prices are a little higher, and the coffee shop can get pretty busy, so it may be too loud if you like to get work done in a quiet environment.

XLIII Specialty Coffee: A little bit of luxury

The perfect spot if you want to impress business partners, clients, or want some luxury for yourself. Just to see the location is incredible: the café is situated in a modern building with a beautiful floor-to-ceiling glass facade, surrounded by Koi ponds. The atmosphere inside is incredible. The staff is very accommodating, and on the menu you’ll find a good variety of baked goods, breads, and even pasta to choose from. I personally recommend the sandwiches. The highlight, of course, is the specialty coffee. And this is not your run-of-the-mill coffee. You may choose from a variety of coffee beans, all of them ethically sourced, and brewing methods. The only thing you should know is that all of this luxury comes at a steeper price.

Tabiji Coffee: My personal favorite

Tabiji Coffee was my personal favorite of the coffee shops we visited. The café is decorated in a Japanese style, there is plenty of seating with power outlets, and the chilhop lofi music makes it one of my preferred places for co-working. You can also get a really good cup of coffee here. While the coffee is really great and there is a good selection, I was, however, disappointed with the other options. While there are some other beverages offered besides coffee, I personally missed orange juice or any other sort of juices and smoothies. There is also no food on the menu.

Homnay – Eatery & Cafe: Close to the beach

Many people use this café to work remotely. It is centrally located in a popular tourist area, close to the beach, making it a very convenient spot to visit before or after sightseeing, swimming, surfing, or sunbathing. You can sit on two levels, indoor and outdoor: downstairs, there’s outdoor seating for a more relaxed vibe, while the quieter upstairs area with AC may be the spot if you need to get some focused work done. Overall, I really enjoyed the chill vibe of this café. The menu is another plus: there is a wide variety of drinks as well as dishes ranging from breakfast to full meals.

Danasol Eatery & Cafe & Workspace: Fostering digital nomad culture

As the name suggests, this café is a little more catered toward digital nomads and remote workers than the previously named spots. Founder Tommy, previously a digital nomad himself, who originates from Germany and has spent time working all over the world. Therefore, he is personally invested in offering digital nomads a space for both productive work and nurturing the community. On the second floor, there’s a designated work space, and the café often hosts events for digital nomads. The tropical boho vibe only adds to the atmosphere, and overall, this is a great place to get some work done or meet like-minded people.

Anytime Coffee: Preferred spot for local students

This café, right by the Han River outside of the typical tourist spots, is a bit quieter and more affordable. Many local students come here to study, and there is plenty of space to open up your laptop and work. There are also enough spaces with power outlets. This place is especially great if you are a night owl or suffering from jet lag, as it is open 24 hours, all days of the week. Only negative: there is no AC, only ventilators, so proceed with caution if you are looking to escape the heat.

Chill Hub Cafe & Kitchen | Coworking Space: The insider tip

The Chill Hub is a bit of a hidden gem, as it’s not too well known and therefore quieter and less crowded than some of the previously named spots. This place is another spot that is not just a conventional café but also specifically intended as a co-working space with a dedicated room for quiet work. Overall, the location is rather spacious with different areas. The menu offers a variety of foods, from brunch to seafood and drinks ranging from coffee to matcha to alcoholic beverages.

Cafeholic Coffee: Coconut coffee and remote work

This is another one of the more laptop friendly cafes, and you’ll definitely not be the only one working. There are many comfy seating options with well-placed power sockets. There is plenty of space over two levels, in the background they play relaxing music, and the air con offers a welcome relief from Da Nang’s humid climate. On the menu are mostly sweet dessert options as well as many different drinks, including their best seller, coconut coffee, and a variety of non-alcoholic mixed summery drinks.

Cafe Moon Hotel: A quiet lobby café with the scent of citrus

Located in the lobby of the Moon Hotel, this small café is another spot you should consider if you are looking for a quieter, calmer space for remote work. The seats are comfortable, and I enjoyed the faint scent of citrus in the air. You’ll find all your caffeine needs met with a selection of coffees and teas, as well as a variety of juices. There’s also a small selection of food. The only downside for me was the notably higher prices.

HI4 Coffee & Workspace: Lots of space to work and study

Another café that is intended as a space to work. And you’ll find yourself in good company: when I visited, everyone was working or studying. The café is very spacious, with seating on over two levels and well-equipped with power outlets. There are different areas, so you have the option to sit in a more open space or a visually separated booth. This place is also open 24/7 and offers both food and coffee, as well as other beverages to fuel your work or study session.

The Local Beans: The best place for digital nomads and remote workers

Looking for a quiet place, where you’ll meet many other nomads? Look no further, this one may be the coworking spot for you. This café is located a bit outside of the typical tourist area in Danang. It’s very roomy and equipped with plenty of comfortable seats as well as power sockets. The upper floor is just for working, with separate meeting rooms, if needed. To use the “beans workspace” I paid 140k for a day (13hrs), with one drink included. While this is the perfect spot if your aim is to get some work done and meet other digital nomads, this is not the place to go to, if you are looking for a meal, as the food selection is limited.

Lately Coffee: Small café with fast wifi

The final café on the list impresses with its fast wifi speed. Lately Coffee is on the smaller side, but still offers a good variety of warm and cold drinks, including alcoholic beverages. For food, you can choose between different breakfast options, as well as baked goods, for example, the almond croissant or the cinnamon roll, which I personally recommend. The café is located in a quieter area, and there are many cafés in the vicinity if you are looking for multiple options. The seats, unfortunately, aren’t the most comfortable, so you may want to consider this if you are looking for a place to work for a longer time.
