Martin Appelmann
Developer, founder of Twork and full-time café worker. Writes the guides on this site from the tables he reviews.
Hi, I’m Martin.
I build apps for a living and I’ve done most of that work from cafés — first in Germany, now across Southeast Asia. Twork began as a side project to save my own mornings and grew into a community of nomads rating the places they work.
On this site I write about the cities I live in, the cafés that are actually good for a workday, and what I learn running an indie product on the road.
Martin’s go-to spots

Kapai Kaffeehaus
Users highly praise the café for its excellent coffee and fantastic window seats. It is less ideal for digital coworking since WiFi and power sockets are missing. Nevertheless, it scores with an extremely quiet, cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for creative offline work or a relaxed reading session.

Tabiji Coffee
Reviews for Tabiji Coffee are predominantly positive. Commonly praised aspects include the fast Wi-Fi, quiet workspace, and fair pricing. It can be livelier during peak times.

McCafé
Reviewers praise the McCafé as the absolute best remote work option in town. Users highlight the perfect setup for laptops, including abundant power sockets, reliable air conditioning, and full accessibility. Despite being a fast-food chain, it offers a surprisingly cozy coworking atmosphere with highly rated vegetarian options.

Coffee Fellows - Kaffee, Bagels, Frühstück
Users rave about the warm atmosphere at Coffee Fellows and the numerous sockets that make working easy. Many enjoy the view from the window seats while savoring their drinks and snacks. There are some downsides, like challenges with reservations and the inconsistent WiFi, but overall, most praise the friendly service and the opportunity to stay longer. Pets are welcome, making the café particularly appealing to dog owners. The food and drinks are rated as solid but not outstanding.
