About Twork

Boilerplate for articles. Free to use as-is or shortened.

Twork is an app for people who work from cafés. Members find laptop-friendly cafés and coworking spots with measured WiFi speeds, outlet and noise ratings, and laptop rules — and see who else is working there right now. Founded in Braunschweig, Germany, by developer Martin Appelmann, Twork is available on iOS, Android and the web.

55 words

Twork started at a Coffee Fellows in Braunschweig. Founder Martin Appelmann and a friend met there to play chess, then opened their laptops and worked for the rest of the day. Chess, then work — it became a routine.

They kept asking where else they could work like this, so they started collecting spots. The list became a prototype, the prototype became Twork. Today Martin travels full-time, still looking for the best café to work from.
